The best I can be in a tiring situation (14/7/22)

What a day!
Last nights sleep wads RUBBISH, and that is never the way I like my 'triple days' to start. It also is not uncommon either, I am sure anyone knows the anxiety of being up early can cause more stress and a worse night sleep, but tonight was particularly terrible.
The good news is that I still feel very calm about swimming, and I am feeling good in the water. I know that with a large rest I am going to feel completely normal, but just before the 'taper process' begins, when you are just finishing the hard work, is the most tiring time also.
The session this morning (swim followed by gym 6:30-10:30ish) is long but light, especially now gym taper has started. When we went into gym, the refreshing change of pace was that we had games to start with, which I lost 3-2 to Candice on a reaction game :( but the boys won the 'beer pong foam roller challenge' (no alcohol included obviously) giving the ladies & sam a 1-min wall sit as punishment.
A good thing about this programme is that we are able to make those small adjustments right now. It is no secret that I am very tired and slightly struggling with a few things at the moment. Before the session I let my strength coach, Nathan know about this and it was completely fine, and we accounted for it as best we could.
Came back after the morning and I was trudging. After some bacon sandwiches with Abs (who was also struggling today bless her) and another episode of stranger things (insane AGAIN), it was nap time. I set an alarm for 2hrs and... didn't sleep a wink. but that's ok, I was tired and still am, but if there is one thing that my sport psych sessions with Zeynep have taught me, is that I done have to feel good to swim fast.
The evening hard session was far from my best, but I put together a solid session. As soon as rest comes I am very excited now and its upon me now, as my last session of the week tomorrow is recovery anyway :D
The evening was spent in a very wholesome manor, with George and Tom over for dinner (cooking very very simple teas of chicken dippers and potato waffles... with veg!!) whilst practicing my presentation and working through a few other things for the presentation tomorrow. I cannot wait to do the presentation tomorrow and show what I have been working on!
Over and out for today, tomorrow brings my first chapter of entering into the Commonwealth Village (covid test...), the presentation and afterwards, a nice Nandos to finish.
