Flat Wednesdays (13/7/22)

You know those days where you feel a bit flat? Not quite yourself? Overwhelmed? Yeah yesterday was one of those days.


In truth, I have felt abit like this for a while, and it has started to affect swimming ever so slightly. The good thing about it is identifying the problem is the biggest step at moving past the problem, and simple conversations with those close to me, have really helped.


Tonight, getting to the pool was a struggle, swimming even at an aerobic pace felt off, and at times I wanted to call it there, but at the same time, I still maintained consistency, skills and what I needed to do. So I can be proud of that.


My coach has been fantastic with helping me get through this. The biggest identifier has been the stress I have been under recently with the business, the coaching and the add-ons that keep me going, but it is almost time to take the foot off the gas and enjoy the process more.


Come Friday, my focus levels on my swimming, my life and, most importantly for right now, my recovery and getting out of this hole can begin. And my coach Mike has given me Saturday morning off to be able to fully relax and enjoy my last weekend I'll have in and around Sheff, so I am grateful for that.


In other news, getting up and moving this morning was one of the best things I could have done, definitely how I am going to approach other mornings off in the future.


FINALLY stranger things season 4 is INSANE, every episode feels almost like a movie and I am loving it.
