Saturday blog post! 16/4/22

Coming to the end of my days off after trials.


Hey, in all fairness when we first head back to the pool, it’s not set for the most intense start, but we’re counting down the days until we’re back in the pool, and tomorrow… that day turns to 1!


The rest portion of the after trials area is as important as any other time. Relaxing my diet slightly, my regimen of pre-pool, supplement routine and sleeping schedule has been well needed.


I think it’s not mentioned enough how intense this sport can be. At the end of the day, we are ON for months of the year with at times very little flexibility with how strict and damaging constant training can be.


A week off here or there, doesn’t matter. And it will be very easy to get back whatever you ‘lose’ in this period of time, but personally the rest period is something that you actually gain a lot from.


Today was spent walking round MEADOWHELL for hours as well as going out for a lovely meal at our favourite spot, Ego, with Abs my Mum and stepdad. It’s been a cracking few days, and it’ll be sad to see them go tomorrow. But it’s been fantastic.
