heavy heavy mondays (11/7/22)

Effort levels high, swimming speed and feel has been low today :D


This happens sometimes, I've been feeling slightly rough over the last few days, so I am not shocked, but with the threshold session tonight, I had to adapt and change my mindset to more positive thinking, in the sense of hitting process targets to swim faster, this worked really well but it was a 'maximise the best of what I've got' kind of day, and if my best is at 7/10 of normal I will try and get every bit out of that as possible.


It is the first step of taper today, the session was SLIGHTY reduced. Literally barely, but in taper, it is so important to keep the effort in the right place, over trying to over force the time and putting too much into a swim. This is something you learn on the process of taper, the body energy levels are the most important thing and recovering in the right way is important. Dealing with the fact that the body will feel all over the place during taper, AMAZING one day, but completely underwhelming the next. It is all normal.


The rest of the day was spent watching stranger things and chilling with Abs. it has been alright. Onto tomorrow!
