Day 87 (dealing with my overthinking! 31/3/22)

Ok, so as a counter to normal, everything around the pool session today has been great! And even the pool session wasn’t bad, but it’s amazing the tricks that the mind plays on you with some rest.

It’s so easy to forget, where I’ve come from, the work I’ve put into get to this point. But its not gone everywhere.

One slightly off session is completely natural during taper, Jay. So stop overthinking it.

So, to help me counteract this, I’m going to make a list of things that have been successful today.

⁃ I’ve had a great gym session where I caught up with a couple of friends i haven’t seen in a while

⁃ I listened to a podcast that I’ve been wanting to listen to all week.

⁃ I snapped myself out of overthinking when I got home by relaxing with a film.

⁃ Me and abs had a lovely evening together.

⁃ I’m feeling more and more confident in the business side of my work, with every bit of work I put in to it

Confidence.

It’s something I have struggled with so much, to actually believe in myself. I know it should be there but the second guessing my brain does sometimes is nuts.

Nothing. Has. Changed. From. Yesterday.

I was listening to my quote of the day earlier today, which is really significant to this moment I guess.

It went something like ‘your wanting to succeed has to be bigger than your fear of failure’ and it rings so true today.

There are so many things I can be proud of getting to where I am now, so I’m choosing to live in the moment, and enjoy the ride, because it’s a privelidge to make it this far, to be able to be thinking about swimming faster than I’ve ever gone before, when just months ago I was unable to swim for 3 months.

It’s all about keeping things in perspective, and I'm choosing to be proud instead of thinking 'what if?'.

It's been a while, and I am not making these 'public' in the sense of advertising them on social media for now, if you make your own way...
