A big recovery day from the week.
I haven’t allowed myself to have an old school recovery day so far this year, but I’m grateful to be able to say yesterday I took one. Abs had to work 7 hours yesterday (bless her!) which meant I could relax and do nothing.
This basically involves staying in bed until around 3pm (I did still swim this morning!) and napping most of the day away. Naturally, because of this my screen time was wayyyyyy up! (Around 7hrs) as, once I was up I was cleaning the house watching a film on my phone.
Last year I had these days every Saturday and I found that I was wasting my weekend far too much. I think these days in moderation however, are so important to just switch off. It’s not been the easiest of weeks inside and outside of the pool, so I really did need a big recharge which I think yesterday gave me.
It wasn’t the most productive of days to say the least, but it was highlighted by going easy on myself, films, fast swimming, and a lovely squad breakfast in the morning (even if eggs benedict on 2 crumpets cost me £11) 😂
