Day 12 notes (15/1/22)

Today was my first day back racing in over 3 months, since my shoulder surgery and wow, did it feel good to be back! I’ll preface this with my knowledge that the times were not the main focal point, but the swims and race skills were more important.

First event was the 100back and I was pretty happy with the time! I knew I had messed up the turn abit, but upon seeing the video back of it (and later on watching the 200back final) I know that my rotation/turns as a whole need a hell of a lot of work on backstroke. I know exactly how I want them to look, now is about time to get them as close as possible to desired.

2nd event was the 200free. I had a lot of fun with this one and was great to race the Sheffield lads again! Also was very happy to get the W racing against people who are training this as their main event! Had to hang VERY tough to beat Tom though, gave a great race but the senior still has it 😉

3rd event 100fly was alright, I can’t figure out how to swim butterfly fast. I can swim it well, but finding that extra gear is like the mystery of the universe right now! I’ve outlined goals with Mike moving forward and we’re both satisfied 😁

Last up of my rather busy day was the 200backstroke, and I have to say I’m very proud of how I handled this one. I stuck to my race plan and skills as best I could considering at the end of a long day and was exhausted (warm up timings is something I can learn from too). Moving forward, this event has SO much scope to improve, and I can’t wait to mix it up properly in the future.

Forest app took abit of a back burner today, but I’ve still managed to plant 3hrs worth of my brand new ‘New year tree’ 😁 my forest is ever expanding still and my screen time remains under 5hrs for the 8th day in a row! Great progress!

Tomorrow is 200fly… let’s have some fun! 😎

It's been a while, and I am not making these 'public' in the sense of advertising them on social media for now, if you make your own way...
