A big, tiring, cracking day! (16/6/22)

Day started off HEAVY! the slightly later night last night meant that I had bit of a headache and was slightly dehydrated.

The Walk to the pool this morning by the way, was BLISS this morning. It was already so nice to the point that I did not even need a jumper to wear over my t-shirt. I was literally walking to the pool at 5:45am with sunglasses on, a slightly weird vibe but it was cracking!

Session in the pool was fine, though my precision was tested as I was one of the last out of the pool on get out swims, failing to swim a 36. 50free 4 times before eventually succeeding!

Gym came and I felt so happy to learn that my 'gym taper' has now started, moving into a more power phase. I LOVE this phase in the gym, the explosiveness and the gradual refreshing that the legs in particular go through is a real confidence booster.

After the gym session I had my haircut (so needed!) then went for a bacon sandwich with Abs and Candy in Botanical Gardens. It was so lovely and a nice way to spend part of her day off.

Swimming in the evening was a big success, FINALLY my butterfly this week has been clicking in the way I want it to, I have made a few adjustments with my coach and I am proud of how we have handled that. a lot can change in a few weeks so I am going to keep my head down as much as I can and improve what I can to be the best I can.

My backstroke was also feeling pretty solid. The times were good, however when I was in taper, my stroke count for a 50 pace was 26 per 50, during this session my count was between. 29-31. so clearly somewhere along the line I am slipping some water. That is exciting as that means there is still so much time to save! :D

A good day all round, tea was lovely, now I have done quite a lot of work this evening, prepping for a busy day tomorrow, with a business catch up, early training and finishing the packing of my suitcase for 10 days in Lanzarote :D
